of the passionate affair between Greek
shipping tycoon Alekos Zagorakis and school
teacher Kelly. Kelly is an ordinary girl who has
slowly rebuilt her life after the shattering day
when Alekos failed to turn up for their
wedding. In an attempt to finally move on,
she makes a decision that has disastrous
consequences ........one bad decision leads to another and soon Kelly is in serious trouble and Alekos is firmly back in her life..…

I loved exploring the relationship between these two very different characters. Alekos is so confident and sure of himself, very much in control of his world. Handling people has never been a problem for him but Kelly presents a challenge that leaves him floundering. He makes so many mistakes in his dealings with her you just have to feel sorry for the guy. But Kelly isn’t having it all her own way. She’s used to handling small children, and a ruthless alpha male requires a very different skill set! Much of this story is set on the beautiful Greek island of Corfu, one of my favourite places, and writing the book gave me the opportunity to gaze at my photographs, two of which I’ve shared with you here.

I have a busy time ahead. I’ve just finished another book for Harlequin Presents (very exciting, but more of that later in the year) and in a few weeks I’ll be going to the Romantic Novelists’ Association annual conference in London. I’m really looking forward to catching up with my fellow authors. So much of a writer’s life is spent in isolation in front of the computer, so it’s a treat to have the opportunity to get out and talk to other like minded people. It was at the RNA conference a few years ago that I met Aleka Nakis, a fellow author. We chatted over a cup of coffee and I realized that this was the perfect opportunity to check my Greek. Those snippets of language that go into a book are just there to add colour of course, but it’s important to get them right. Aleka was generous enough to translate all the words and phrases I needed, which reminded me once again that romance writers are a generous and supportive bunch of people.
